As the way we do business becomes an increasingly mobile and 24/7 endeavor, business owners may be looking for an even more sophisticated technology to help them stay organized. The software Evernote attempts to address this problem by making notes and files more accessible from PCs, Macs, laptops, iPhones, Blackberries, and any other device you might use. This web-based tool is an alternative to One Note, Yojimbo, and Circus Ponies NoteBook.
Evernote allows users to create new notes using desktop, web, and mobile versions of the software. They can upload snapshots using a camera phone or webcam, upload audio and video files, clip entire web pages and screenshots, drag and drop content into the desktop clients for Mac and Windows, email notes directly into Evernote accounts, scan receipts, tags, and brochures, or even send Twitter messages into Evernote.
The software allows users to organize note files, as well as search and filter through all types of files. Users can even search for text that is handwritten, or part of an image. Evernote synchronizes notes across all desktop and mobile devices that a user employs. Evernote, which is available for Windows, Mac, iPhone, Palm Pre, or Blackberry, offers a free or premium subscription.
