Founder: Sergio Fernández de Córdova
Established: 2003

What the company does: Fuel Outdoor is a traditional out-of-home media company with a nationwide presence and an extensive asset base of billboards, walls, scaffolds, bus shelters, and MetroLights panels in cities across the country.
Social responsibility program: In 2009, Fuel Outdoor developed a program to utilize signs throughout the city of New York and help organizations, such as Sunflower Children’s Foundation and the Food Bank for New York City, gain visibility, while covering all out-of-pocket expenses and partnering with vendors, and getting numerous organizations to participate.
In 2009, Fuel Outdoor was not only able to provide close to $3 million in advertising value to NYC-based organizations, but also helped create a socially aware business that used their valuable advertising space as a way to help other organizations grow their brands and get exposure in areas, like Times Square and the Nokia Theatre, they normally would not be able to access or afford.
“For Fuel, the community that we work in, and being an integral part of that community is a part of our overall success,” says president Sergio Fernández de Córdova. “So we encourage not only our staff, but also all of our competitors
to get involved.”
