20 percent of poll responses indicate that residents of Africa plan to start a business

A March 2012 Gallup poll of adults in 98 countries found that the highest percentage of people planning to start a business in the next 12 months are residents of sub-Saharan Africa. The next highest percentage was the Middle East and North Africa, followed by Asia. Out of the total number of countries surveyed, the average intent to start a business was eight percent.
