Supplier Diversity Program of the year
InfoPeople
What the company does: Headquartered on Wall Street, InfoPeople Corporation delivers comprehensive and cost-effective IT services and software solutions to a diverse clientele. The company’s focus is on software project development and infrastructure management (both onsite and offshore), nationwide IT professional staffing, and technology consulting.
Program details: InfoPeople Corporation has established a corporate policy to present IT consultants who are from various ethnic and national backgrounds to clients. The company’s recruiting staff is instructed to pursue potential consultants from diverse groups as a priority effort.
InfoPeople Corporation, a minority-owned business, had an informal supplier diversity program since its inception in 1998, but the policy was formalized this past year. During this time, the company has restaffed their recruiting group. Staff members also attend MeetUp groups and guilds that have a diversity group focus to broaden the consultant recruiting pool.

InfoPeople also is involved with Asian Women in Business, New York City’s Citywide Procurement Fair, and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Diversity Procurement workshops. InfoPeople is certified as a Minority/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise by the U.S. Small Business Administration, New York State, New York City, and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey.
InfoPeople increased its revenue by 52 percent last year from the previous year and the supplier diversity program was responsible for much of that growth. Because InfoPeople has distinguished themselves as a top-tier IT firm that also happens to be an M/WBE, they attract more qualified consultant candidates.
Tip for implementing your own program: InfoPeople recommends investigating and clearly understanding the possibilities and opportunities a supplier diversity program can open up for your business.
