Sometimes you can’t meet in your office. Sometimes you don’t want to. I have about a meeting a week outside the office. Here are a few of what I think are the best places for business meetings in NYC.
This is probably the power room in NYC. This article isn’t about business meals but if it was, the breakfast at the Regency is the place to be. The room reeks of power and deal making. The lounge is open after breakfast at about 10:30am. If you are going in the middle of the day, you don't have to order drinks—you can just order a coffee or water.
As far as chains go, I gave up on meetings at Starbucks a long time ago as you can rarely get a seat. The service at Le Pain Quotidien is fine and you can order a coffee or light bite.

Ok, I like this one because 1) it is a block from the NY Report office, and 2) I am a tea drinker. More importantly, I can always get a seat at one on 7th and 26th.
Another thing I like about all three of these places is that you can feel comfortable regardless of what you and your peer are wearing.
Where do you go for meetings outside the office? What do you think are the best places for business meetings in NYC?
