2011 Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year

The winner of the 2011 Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year award was recently announced as Ludwick Marishane, a senior at the University of Cape Town. Marishane beat out nearly 2,000 students from 42 countries for a share in the $500,000 prize as well as a year of mentorship from Mike DeLazzer, founder of Redbox.

Marishane’s company, Headboy Industries LLC, was founded in 2007. Their flagship product is DryBath, a bath-substitute lotion that needs no water. DryBath’s major client industries include airlines, hotels, armies, charities, and retailers.

Since 1998, the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) have been inspiring and honoring students with entrepreneurial spirit. In 2006, the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) took on leadership of the GSEA in order to offer the students access to their network of resources and mentors throughout the world.
