A university senior from South Africa wins the 2011 award

The winner of the 2011 Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year award was recently announced as Ludwick Marishane, a senior at the University of Cape Town. Marishane beat out nearly 2,000 students from 42 countries for a share in the $500,000 prize as well as a year of mentorship from Mike DeLazzer, founder of Redbox.

 

Marishane’s company, Headboy Industries LLC, was founded in 2007. Their flagship product is DryBath, a bath-substitute lotion that needs no water. DryBath’s major client industries include airlines, hotels, armies, charities, and retailers.
