According to a March survey conducted by the Intuit Inc. Small Business Employment Index (blog.intuit.com), small business employment and the hours worked increased. According to the index, the total equates to about 100,000 new jobs created across the country in two months. This national survey found that while most states saw increases in employment over the last year, there were slight decreases in employment in Georgia, New York, and North Carolina. The study was based on aggregate and anonymous employment data from about 60,000 small business employers, with fewer than 20 employees.
