For great ideas and inspiration, we turn to the experts. But who do the experts turn to? We asked some small business blogging authorities which sites they read and put together this Valentine to some of the best of the web:

Network Solutions has an energetic blog featuring a combination of experienced small-business writers such as Rieva Lesonsky (formerly an editor with Entrepreneur), and other contributors. But the most intriguing aspect of this blog is that the site is the home of the Small Business Success Index surveys conducted by Network Solutions.

The Rise to the Top

If you like to watch video content, then you’ll love David Siteman Garland’s blog containing video interviews he shoots with small business owners and stakeholders in the small business market.

Bloggertone.com

This is a group blog with an international flair. Operated out of Ireland by Niall Devitt, Facundo Villaveiran, and Fred Caballero—three of the nicest guys you’ll ever “meet” long distance on a Skype conference call—this vibrant blog has outstanding content that’s focused on marketing and sales.

Smallbiztechnology.com

Ramon Ray runs one of the longest-standing blogs about small business technology. A lot of tech blogs are either too technical, or focus purely on web technologies, but smallbiztechnology.com has a wellrounded approach to technology that small businesses really need.

From Gary Vaynerchuk, wine and social media guru and author of The Thank You Economy.

TechCrunch.com

I have been a reader for years and I like the visual layout; there is just something about it. And writers like MG and Paul Carr, have always done a nice job. It is relevant to what I care about and often features breaking news.

From Matthew Weiss, New York traffic lawyer; owner of Weiss & Associates, PC; the global learning chair of Entrepreneur’s Organization; and NY Report blogger.

SethGodin.typepad.com

Seth Godin’s blog on marketing is my favorite. It is updated every day and is like eye candy for the mind. It keeps me always focused on marketing and offers great examples of good and bad business practices.

From Mardy Sitzer, founder and president of Bumblebee Design & Marketing, and NY Report blogger.

DuctTapeMarketing.com/blog

I subscribe to well over 30 blogs; mostly daily posts, some weekly. I read them like most read the morning paper. If I had to pick one to recommend for entrepreneurs, I would recommend Duct Tape Marketing by John Jantsch. His posts are easy, fast reads that are well written, practical, and thoughtful that offer resources and commentary applicable to any small business owner. I am particularly fond of his Weekend Favs, where he offers up some new resources to try, but I am never made to feel like I am supposed to buy something.
