Robert Demmett -Managing Partner, Tax Eisner & Lubin, LLP
It’s telling that Robert Demmet has been with his firm since his days as a college intern, ultimately becoming a partner in 1992 and managing partner for tax in 2007. Tagged early as an exceptional leader and “people person,” he is now a mentor for newer firm members.
But it’s his work for clients that merited the Accountant of the Year award. Specializing in tax and financial planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals, and compliance issues for closely held businesses, Demmett is able to use his expertise to help clients in ways that extend beyond the accounting realm.
For example, when a client wanted to improve his commercial building with a new façade, Demmett identified an engineer who could assist in the design so that it would qualify for energy tax credits amounting to approximately half a million dollars. That kind of service earns Demmett kudos from his clients.
“I have been working with Bob for the last five years, and wish it had been the last 45 years. He is not only my tax advisor, but my business advisor,” says client Arthur Rosenbloom, vice chairman of Newmark Knight Frank Global Real Estate Advisors.
