Have you ever been in one of those situations where you are trying to explain something on your computer screen to a prospective client, employee, or partner, and you just can’t seem to get the point across to them over the phone or through email? You may even end up having to schedule a GoToMeeting just to explain a simple point.

To make sharing information on your screen easier, try Pixetell. This product enables you to quickly and easily record video right from your PC and integrate your visual instructions with the movement of your mouse, as you showcase and/or provide instructions.

Once you download and install the software, you select what area of your screen you want to record. Pixetell highlights this area of the screen with a box. You then press the Record button to start recording your voice and your mouse actions. Each click of the mouse is highlighted by a small blue icon, so the viewer knows what you are doing with your mouse. If you have a web cam you also have the option of recording video, which adds another nice dimension to what you are recording. Once you’re done, you can send the recording through Pixetell to one person or hundreds of people, or store it for future use. There are several uses for Pixetell. For example, if you want to provide customer support, Pixetell’s a neat way to bring to life what you might find difficult to explain to a

customer over the phone. If you’re in sales, imagine how much better your chance of making a sale will be as you explain things to the customer “in person.” For you graphic design folks, you can minimize misunderstandings by showing customers right on the screen what you’ve done as you walk them through your latest revisions. Pixetell costs from $9–19 a month, depending on the features you choose. Competing products include Camtasia Studio, which costs $300 and has many more powerful features Jing Pro which is similar to Pixetell, costs $15 a year.
