Entrepreneurs Find Success Through Experience, not Education

Survey finds that experience outweighs education for entrepreneurial success.

A recent study by the Kauffman Foundation reports that entrepreneurs with strong peer support, networks, and experience tend to reach a higher level of success than entrepreneurs with advanced college degrees and university accolades. More than 540 business owners and founders took part in the study, “The Anatomy of an Entrepreneur: Making of a Successful Entrepreneur,” and rated the following four items as extremely important to their success: prior work experience, lessons learned from former failures, lessons learned from former successes, and working with a solid management team.
