Twitter recently introduced Twitter Lists to help users organize who they follow (or who they don’t follow) into clusters. Users are allowed to form up to 20 lists for their Twitter accounts and they do not need to follow someone regularly to add them to a particular list. Users can even add themselves to their own Twitter Lists, and they also have the option of viewing lists that they appear on. Users can delete a list at any time, and Twitter claims that following a list is just as easy as following any other individual on the site. And since anyone can publish a list, there’s an infinite amount of groupings out there to choose from or appear on.

So what benefits do Twitter Lists have for small business owners? Now, instead of searching through their entire Twitter following, owners can make things a little easier by grouping together vendors, customers, potential clients, networking contacts, investors, friends, family, and so on. Each list users create allows them to see the Tweets of the users on the list—a plus, since they won’t have to search for a topic they are interested in through the general Twitter search.
